  1. How does your radio fundraiser work?
For a period of time, usually one to two days, we share the story of your organization on the air. We may choose just one station at a time or occasionally we do this in several radio markets simultaneously. The vision and purpose of your organization are communicated clearly to the radio audience and then we ask the listener to respond by making a financial committment.

  2. What kind of organizations have the most radio fundraising success?
The most successful radio fundraisers are with organizations who have a clearly defined vision that the listener can relate to and get behind. The truth is that we have had success with all kinds of organizations.

  3. What is a successful radio fundraiser in your opinion?
Success looks different to every person however our goal is to break even in every campaign while in the process we want to see our clients grow virally by adding names to their database of support. This allows the organization to reinvest their dollars in another market and duplicate the process.

  4. I notice you also refer to donor development programs as well as radio fundraiser programs. Is there a difference?
No. It's just that some organizations don't understand that the key to economic success is far more than just being successful at raising money. It's about "developing the donor" by building an ongoing relationship with them. It's about communication and partnership. We like to use the term "donor development" in explaining what we do but new prospective clients will often call us asking about our "radio fundraising." Essentially, they are the same thing.

  5. Can a radio fundraiser be successful in a down economy?
Absolutely. In fact, in order for an organization to be successful when times are tough economically they must be proactive about marketing themselves just as any business would. One of the great things about our radio fundraisers is that we can target them into areas of the country where the economy is not as severely challenged. Making sure that we are recommending markets that have relative economic stability is an area we monitor constantly.

  6. What are the biggest reasons that some radio fundraisers fail?
First of all, the stations that we work with and our clients don't fail very often. Fortunately, we are blessed to work with stations who have been doing this for a long time and have learned the hard way what NOT to do. Having said that, here are a few things we've witnessed in other campaigns that have failed in the past. Poor web development and execution of the on air strategy comes to mind for starters. We have seen some fail at radio fundraising because the wrong radio station was purchased. Many radio stations simply are not equipped to succeed in this kind of strategy and unless the radio time buyer has sufficient experience in this, there is a reasonable cause for doubt that the fundraiser could ever meet expectations. We also see some failure because the organization's mission was not clearly communicated to the listener or because the call to action, the "ask" was not specific enough and delivered with the right passion and sincerity to get the job done. There is much to manage well to have the best chance of success.

  7. What kinds of services do you provide to help us succeed in radio fundraising?
We help in the writing and creation of all pre-recorded segments as well as the execution of the live portion of the broadcasts. We also provide an announcer who is a "fundraising specialist" representing your organization on the air to make the appeal on your behalf.

  8. Do you do radio fundraisers for 501C4 organizations?
Depending on the cause that a social welfare or 501C4 organization represents, we do work with such organizations and our partner stations have had great results in the past doing so.

  9. When considering the various causes that a 501C4 organization may represent, what types of causes would you most likely do fundraising for?
We conduct our radio fundraisers almost exclusively on Christian and Conservative talk formatted radio stations. Therefore, we would be most likely to do fundraisers with socially conservative causes that the listeners to these stations are most likely to support. Feel free to contact us to learn more.

  10. How much does it cost to do a donor campaign?
The advertising investment will vary depending on market size and the track record of a station to deliver on goal. But remember, when done successfully, the original ad costs are recouped in the campaign and you will be growing your list of donors in the process.

  11. Are there other expenses other than the campaign itself that we should be aware of?
Call center fulfillment may need to be factored in to the equation. However, we have actually found good ways of lowering and sometimes eliminating fulfillment costs completely.
